Kamiseta F/W 2009
Natalia is the new face of Filipino brand Kamiseta. I have added two ads from the campaign to the gallery. Also, I wanted to let you guys know about an issue we are having with the gallery. I have changed the size of the thumbnails, and as a result, some thumbnails will look distorted for a few days. Since there are over 3,000 pictures, it will take a while for all the thumbnails to be updated. I’m sorry about that.

A new story and a new Christmas tale, illustrated – as before – by Princess Natalia. This time, she was proclaimed Empress!
A tribute to the femme-enfant, so wonderfully interpreted by Romy Schneider in Sissi: The Young Empress. A tribute also to history: Guerlain fondly remembers being distinguished as the very official and exclusive “Her Majesty Empress Eugenia’s patented Perfumer” in 1853. Seems like only yesterday!

I am not sure why it feels more surreal to meet the supermodel Natalia Vodianova than any other celebrity. Maybe because I’ve seen her so often in glossy magazines looking impossibly beautiful and poised in a tiny designer confection, always with her husband Justin Portman, the father of her three children. Maybe it’s because they are clearly so happily married. But it’s mostly because of the fairy tale – the 27-year-old who grew up starving in Russia and went on to win the biggest modelling contract in the world as the face of Calvin Klein, the same contract that turned Kate Moss into Kate Moss in the Nineties.
Natalia Vodianova says Russians can’t shut her up
“Russian women are treated in a very Arabic way in our country,” the 27-year-old Calvin Klein model told Mandrake at a party at the Burberry store in Mayfair to celebrate Fashion’s Night Out.
“You are expected to give birth to children, look pretty and shut up. But we are very strong and intelligent people: there are a few of us out there. My whole life is breaking the stereotype of typical Russian women looking for money.”
Natalia, 27, grew up in a poor district of the city then known as Gorky in the Soviet Union and set up her own fruit stall to help her family escape poverty. In 2001, she married Justin Portman, who is an heir to one of Britain’s biggest property fortunes.
“I have passion for what I do,” she told me. “I am confident and determined on shoots, but I am actually really shy in real life. I don’t have confidence when it comes to my looks. I am only confident in front of the camera or when I am talking about my charity. I can get water out of a stone when it comes to things that matter to me.”
