Shalimar Parfum Initial, a scent celebrating joy, desire, and femininity, is Guerlain’s latest perfume. Arriving in a robust flacon recalling the shape of the original Shalimar Parfum yet in a sleeker form and decorated with a blue tassel on the neck of the flacon, this new fragrance is composed of citruses, green notes, flowers, woody accords and oriental scents.
The face of the new Shalimar Parfum Initial is Natalia Vodianova. Photographed by Paolo Roversi, she is supposed to constitute innocence and the chastity of a woman’s body. Beautiful, fresh and pure, Vodianova’s image reminds the viewer of the biblical representation of Eve.
The composition of the parfum incorporates citrus as well as the zest of bergamot and orange while slight touches of green provide for a subtle fresh accent. Rose flowers and jasmine reveal woody accords of vetiver and patchouli while oriental notes of vanilla, white musk and Tonka give a sensual warmth to the fragrance.
This brave and valiant perfume is credited to the nose of Thierry Wasser. Richly satisfying with a smooth polished texture, this scent reverts to tradition, the orient, and the sensuality of innocence.
Available now at Bloomingdales, Sephora, Areej, Paris Gallery, Faces, Harvey Nichols, and Debenhams.

We’re big fans of W’s back page, which depicts glamorous black and white snapshots from fashion’s most fabulous party of the moment.
For the September issue, the featured fete was Natalia Vodianova’s fairytale-themed ball, which we remember quite well from the fanciful outfits.
Playing hostess kept the model quite occupied, leaving her no time for even one drink. Which is shame, said Natalia to W:
“I actually love the feeling of a hangover. It’s not often that I allow myself to be like that, so I don’t fight it. I just take a Berocca vitamin and a walk — and enjoy it.”
We find it hard to believe someone could actually love a hangover, but then again Natalia is Russian, so she and vodka must be on good speaking terms.
Natalia did have an opportunity to let loose recently on her Ibiza escape with new boyfriend Antoine Arnault. The son of LVMH boss Bernard Arnault, Antoine was spotted with the model and her son on the beach, confirming that Natalia has indeed moved on from husband Justin Portman.
Now she has a new man to party with… and nurse hangovers with.
